Breast Cancer Research & Therapy

For The Fighters & Warriors!

Back in 2012 after we published, our PI suggested we get someone to "make a bed" do what our therapy boat does. An inventor excited about our program called us about a bed he made; we have the last four models before he closed his shop.

Q: What do they look like?
A: Like a twin bed. Bed height is 18" so a person can walk up to it, sit down on it (same height as sitting on a couch) then bring up their feet. Then after moving to the center of the bed, press the hand-held control for "Go" and enjoy the gentle hammock motion until time to stop. The therapy is 60 minutes.

We have run the bed for 100 hours and found some interesting effects, ie: sleep, pain and stress relief.
We are looking for a PI to head our Device Study. The beds arrived too late to take advantage of our old team, alas; but this now opens to looking at other groups of patients that may enjoy other benefits.

Call to view/sample the beds. Best for physician/researcher to express their interest. 860.889.3424.
Possible areas of interest: PTSD, TBI, Sleep Deficit, Non-pharmaceutical Pain Relief, and Stress Relief.

We hold the "boat" experience may give multiple dimensional relief whereas the bed is "uni".
Call to discuss present observations noted in the recent 100 hours use.

WISH LIST!

We don't give up just when you feel the quantity of "hope" is in short supply, 2 boats both with 6 or more berths appeared. Stay tuned - hope to bring back pics!

Also:

The call for "those who are exploring options" in the midst of treatment, or metastatic at either end of the adventure, is about using those cancer relaxation therapy beds.

This is Daphne, Major Casey's very special design, that started it all: the proposal, protocol, research in two CT hospitals, publication of results, and subsequent cancer therapy that CT cancer survivors have enjoyed aboard similar water craft while waiting for Daphne to be open year-round. She has 7 beds, one is in the Navigator's Cabin, special for youngster attendees, with all its seamanship instruments.

You may call to talk about Daphne: 860.889.3424; her T-Shirts, Holiday Cards, her history or future. Collie Lutynski
